Uganda - The former Mufti of Uganda, Sheik Obed Kamulegeya has warned Muslim men against marrying primary school-going girls. Speaking to the Muslims in Kayunga district, Sheik Kamulegeya said that marrying teenage girls has left many Muslim women illiterate. Sheik Kamulegeya notes that some men monitor the development of breasts of girls without considering the age and level of education. The sheik says that though in Islam a lady is considered to be of marriage material at her first menstruation period, with modern world men should let girls first accomplish their education.
